Russian Pallada Tall Ship

We were lucky to board the three-masted, 21 year old Russian Pallada Tall Ship in August 2011, while it docked in San Pedro’s harbor. The ship, carrying Russian cadets sailed to different ports around the world, including the Port of Los Angeles, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s space flight. The Pallada is the fastest sailing vessel in the world, with a speed exceeding 18 knots.  Walking through the ship’s decks felt like beening transported back in time. Even though we didn’t speak each others language, the Russian sailors were happy to participate in our photo shoot and seemed to have a lot fun. view more of these photos in the Facebook album Russian Pallada Tall Ship
